Scene One: The Baptism
Stage Guy: (Lights come on)

John: I baptize you with water but there is one that will come that baptizes with fire. I am not worthy of even untying his sandals.

Narrator: The next day...

Jesus: (Walk to the crowd)

John: (Looking at Jesus) Behold the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world.

Jesus: (Walking into the water) Baptize me.

John: Me, Baptize You?

Jesus: We must do this to fulfill all righteousness.

John: (Baptize Jesus)

Stage Guy: (Dove descends on Jesus's shoulder) (Lights go off)

Narrator: After He was baptized by John in the Jordan River the spirit led him to the wilderness where he fasted for forty days and forty nights and he became very hungry.

Stage Guys: (When narrator is talking quietly switch from Baptism Scene to the Temptation Scene.)

Scene Two: The Temptation
Jesus: (Walking around, looking very hungry)

Voice of Satan: So it's you again, Son of God. Then again, are you the Son of God? You look very hungry. If you are who you say you are turn these stones into bread

Jesus: No! (Looking up) Men need more than just bread for their life. (Turn around walking away)

Voice of Satan: I will give you all the nations of the Earth, All of them! If you would only just bow down and worship me.

Jesus: The Scriptures say, Worship only the Lord your God. (Again Walk Away)

Voice of Satan: (Giving a Sigh) If you are the Son of God jump off this roof for the Scriptures do say, The angels are ordered to protect you and guard you. They will hold you with their hands and keep your foot from striking one stone.

Jesus: The Scriptures also says, Do not test the Lord your God.

Narrator: The angels then came to Jesus and cared for Him. Later, when he heard his cousin John had been arrested he went to Capernaum. One day when he was walking on the shore of the Sea of Galiliee he saw two brothers that were fishermen. He called out to them and he said... Scene Three: The Calling of the Disciples
Jesus: (Walking)

Peter & Andrew: (Cast nets. Bring them up.)

Jesus: Follow me and I will show you how to fish for men!

Peter & Andrew: (Drop Nets, Run to Jesus)

Jesus, Peter, Andrew: (Continue Walking)

James, John & Their Father Zebedee: (Work on your nets)

Jesus: Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men!

James & John: (Drop Nets, Run to Jesus)

Zebedee: (old voice) Be Back By Eight!

Stage Guy: (Lights Off, Switch Scenes)

Scene Four: The Sermon on the Mount
Stage Guy: (Lights come on.)

Jesus: Blessed are the poor in spirit. For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they that mourn. For they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek. For they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are they that thirst for righteousness. For they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful. For they will receive mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart. For they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers. For they will be called the children of God.
Blessed are they who are persecuted my my sake. For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
You are the light of the world. Men do not hide a candle, but they put it on a candlestick. Let your light shine before men that they may see your works and praise your Father in Heaven.

Stage Guy: (Lights off, Switch Scene)


Scene Five: The Miracles of Jesus
Marriage at Cana
Narrator: The year is 28 A.D. There is a big wedding at Cana a small
village just northwest of Nazareth. Jesus and his mother are invited.

Mary: "Jesus, they have no more wine."

Jesus: "Why do you involve me? My time has not yet come."

Jesus: (Look at pitchers)

Jesus: "Fill the jars with water"

2 Servants: (fill the jars with water)

Jesus: Now take some to the master of this banquet.

Master:(Taste the wine)

Master:(Call the Bridegroom)

Master: Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper
wine after the guests have had too much to drink. But you have brought
out the best of the wine for now.

Stage Guy: (Switch to Galillee Scene, Lights off)

Jesus Calms the Storm
Narrator: One evening Jesus and his disciples boarded a fishing boat in calm weather and began sailing toward the eastern shore of the Sea of Galilee. But then the sea became violent.

Stage Guy: (Waves rocking)

Jesus: (Sleeping)

Disciples: (Urging Jesus to wake up screaming Jesus Jesus we are
perishing!)

Jesus:(Sleepily waking up)"You of little faith, why are you so afraid?"

Jesus: (Looking to water) "Peace! Be still"

Wave People:(Stop the waves)

Disciple: What sort of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?

Stage Guy: (Lights off)
Feeding of the 5,000
Narrator: On the day he heard his cousin, John the Baptist, had been beheaded, Jesus took a boat out on the Sea of Galilee to be alone. When he landed on shore a crowd drew he had compassion on them and healed their sick.

Disciple: "Jesus, this area is empty and it's getting late. Tell the crowd to go home and buy food for them.

Jesus: They have no need to go away give them some food.

Disciple: We have only five loaves of bread and two small fish.

Jesus: Bring them to me.

Disciples: (Bring the food)

Jesus:(Pray and break the bread, hand the baskets to the Disciples)

Disciples: (Take the bread and pass it to the crowd (cast)

Narrator: Jesus did many other miraculous signs and wonders. These were just a few of them.


Scene Six: The Last Supper & Gethsemane
Stage Guy: (Lights off)

Disciples and Jesus: (talking softly)

Jesus: I tell you the truth, tonight, one of you shall betray me.

Disciples: (one after another) Surely not I, Lord. (or) Not I Lord!

Jesus: The one who dips his bread in the bowl with me.

Judas: (Looks Guilty)

Jesus: (Passing the bread) Take, eat, for this is my body.

Disciples: (eat the bread)
Jesus: passing the drink) Take drink, for this is the covenant in my blood, which is poured out for your sins. This do in remembrance of me.

Stage Guy: (Lights off)

Garden of Gethsemane

Jesus & Disciples: (walking through the garden.)

Jesus:(to disciples) You stay here while I go to pray.

Disciples: (go to sleep)

Jesus, Peter, James, John: (walk along)

Jesus: Stay here, my heart is full with sorrow. Stay here and watch while I pray. (walks off)

Peter, James, John: (doze off)

Jesus: (fall down) My father if possible, may this cup be taken from me. But not my will, but your will.

Jesus: (walks back to find them asleep) Can't you just stay awake for one hour and watch? Look the hour is near. My betrayer comes.

Judas and soldiers:(walk to Jesus)

Judas: (kissing Jesus) Greetings Rabbi.

Jesus: Do what you came for.

Head Guard: Sieze Him!

Guards: (Seize Jesus and take him away)

Stage Guy: (lights off, switch to Golgotha)
Scene Seven: Crucifixion and Burial

Soldiers & Jesus: (walk down the aisle)

Soldiers: All hail the King of the Jews!

Mob: You say you can tear down the temple and bring it up in three days, how about you get off that cross!

Jesus: My God, My God, Why have you forsaken me?

Soldier: Come down Son of God!

Mob: You say that you can save others, about you save yourself! (laughter)

Jesus: Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.

Jesus: Father! Recieve my spirit! It is finished.

Stage Guy: (Rumble w/ thunder)

Resurrection

Soldiers: (standing straight at tomb)

Angel: (walks to soldiers)

Soldiers: (fall down)

Mary Magdalene: (walks to tomb, gasps)

Angel: Do not be afraid, for He is not here, He is not dead, He is risen, just as he had said. Come and see where he once lay. Tell his disciples that he has gone before you unto Galilee.

Mary Magdalene: (runs away)
Scene Eight: The Ascension to Heaven

Narrator: After Jesus Christ was crucified and risen from the dead he appeared to many people, including his disciples, for forty days. After that Jesus gave us one last command and then he went to heaven.

Jesus: Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. And I will be with you all ways, even to the end of time.

Crowd: Come Quickly, Lord Jesus!

Angels: In the same manner Jesus was taken from you today he will retun.
